The app. An app called The Grade has released some pretty intriguing information. It's the kind of information that could either really boost or totally wreck your self-esteem. They pooled the information on their dating database (which is kind of like Tinder) to determine what the sexiest names are. Admittedly, there are some flaws here, but let's have a look at what they found.
What's in a name? When you're thinking of dating a girl, how much does her name factor into how attractive you find her? Be honest, we really want to know. If she has a beautiful face but an ugly name, will you still go for it? What about if she has an average face but her name for some reason strikes a nerve? Are you more likely to go after her?
Katie. Who among us didn't go to school with at least five different Katie's growing up? Well, it seems the ubiquity of this name doesn't have a negative effect of what people think of it. In fact, just the opposite appears to be true. We knew there had to be a reason Katie's were so popular...
Jenna. You've probably run into fewer Jenna's than you have Katie's, which may account for why Jenna took 8th place over Katie's 10th place. Whatever the reason, 62% of guys slipped right on Jenna compared to 61% who swiped right on Katie.
Molly. Percentage-wise, Molly and Jenna are tied at 62%. While in terms of testing 62% is still barely passing, in terms of this study it puts it amongst the top 10 hottest female names. No one is going to agree 100% on any one name, so 62% is a pretty good score if you think about it.
Erika. Erika ranks way up at the number two spot with 69% right swipes. Note the way the name is spelled. It's "Erika" with a 'K'. The study actually made a point of saying that people were more attracted to the name when it had a 'K' in it versus when it was spelled with a 'C'. Go figure.
Lexi. Lexi is a cute name, but admittedly it also does do well amongst adult film stars. But it looks like those women know what they're doing because this name came in at number three on the list of the hottest female names. It has to be something to do with the 'X' that makes it a seXy one.
Brooke. While this name isn't the sexiest name, according to the study, it does have the same first letter in common! Still, Brooke ranks fourth with a 65% approval rating. Basically what we're teaching you with this article is what to name your daughter (or what not to name your daughter) if you want her to get a good amount of tail.
Vanessa. While some of these names are head-scratchers in terms of what it is that makes them so attractive, Vanessa is actually an easy one to figure out. When it comes to poetics, the 'S' sound is affiliated with femininity and sensuality. If your name has that kind of sound in it, then it's likely to be considered a more attractive name.
April. You may have your own opinions about women who are named after months out of the year, but according to this app's findings, April is one of the best names for women. Of course, it could just be that everyone named April who uses their app happens to be pretty hot.
Natalie. Natalie comes in at 7th place with a 63% success rate. So if your name is Natalie, you're slightly worse off than the Lexi's and the Brooke's of the world, but you've got the edge on Katie. Take that, Katie! (Sorry, Katie!)
Nikki. If your name is Nicole, do yourself a favor and go by the nickname of Nikki. That's not just our own personal advice, that's what this app found to be true. Women with the name Nikki had a 4% better success rate than women who went by the name Nicole.
Rebecca. A lot of women with the full name of Rebecca tend to go by the nickname of Becky, but according to the findings of this dating app, that's a big mistake. Guys overwhelmingly preferred the name Rebecca to Becky. Rebecca received roughly a 60% success rate while Becky received 23%.
Brianna. Well, you've been waiting for it this whole time, so we're going to give it to you. We gave you the clue earlier that the sexiest female name started with a 'B'. Did you guess correctly? Brianna apparently is the most appealing female name. 70% of men swiped right when they came across a Brianna.
