Teased. Amber Rose wrote in Motto, “Ever since high school, I’ve been called a slut. All the boys were attracted to me—that wasn’t my fault! Then, when I started getting famous, the shaming got even worse.”

Perception. Rose felt she was being judged and shamed for things no man would be judged for. But then she resolved to stop caring what people thought about her and life her life.

Women, too. Women often are complacent in slut-shaming. Rose said she got a lot of negative comments from women about her appearance. But women put each other down because they feel in competition with one another.

Double standard. Rose discussed being the victim of harsh rumors. She wrote, "After my ex-husband Wiz Khalifa and I got a divorce, I’d go out for a date at a restaurant like any normal single human and people would say, 'Man, she’s such a ho. She’s out at restaurants with guys.' Then they would see my ex-husband with a bunch of women. They would say, 'He’s the man! That’s so cool.' So when I went on a date, I’m a whore, and when he’s piling girls in a car, he’s the man? There’s something wrong here.”

Former stripper. Rose gets a lot of flack because she used to strip. She said she used to get asked, “'Who would ever love you? You were a stripper. Why are you in relationships?' And I used to feel like I had to explain that maybe it was because I’m a good person.”

No explanation. She realized she didn’t owe anyone any explanations. She didn’t have to make anyone believe she was a good person. She just had to accept herself.
Realization. Rose said, “What I’ve realized is that, when you care too much, you’re not living at your full potential. When you really stop caring about what people say, that’s when you really start living. It’s such an amazing feeling. It’s about loving who you are, owning who you are and knowing that it’s O.K. to live your life how you want to live it.”

All human. Nobody is perfect. We’re all human and must learn to live with ourselves. Rose wants to make women feel happier in their own skin.

Master of sex. In the trailer for her new talk show, Rose said, “I’m certified sex positive. I have multiple degrees in multiple positions.I’m a licensed selfie taker, I have a black belt in MUVAhood, I’m the motherf***ing CEO of No Shame. And I’m the MVP of women supporting women. And I’m gonna tell you a little secret: women like to have sex too.”

Slut walk. Rose wants women to reclaim the word “slut.” She hosted a slut walk to fight sexual violence, victim blaming, derogatory labels, and gender inequity. Rose considers herself to be a feminist.

Walk of no shame. Amber Rose believes women should sleep with whomever they want. She said in the trailer, “if a girl wants to have a one night stand, she should. Girls should do whatever the f*** they want.” Preach.

The Amber Rose Show. According to TIME, Amber Rose’s talk show will premiere on VH1 July 8th. It is being produced by Dr. Phil. It will feature "candid interviews with industry experts and lead provocative, entertaining and unfiltered conversations with guests about pop culture, parenting, relationships, friendships, race, and entrepreneurship."
Inclusive. Rose states on the Slutwalk website, “The Amber Rose SlutWalk is a completely inclusive space. This event will have a zero tolerance policy on all hateful language, racism, sexism, ableism, fat-shaming, transphobia, or any other kind of bigotry.”

She has your back. Rose frequently defends other women’s right to sexual liberation. When Taylor Swift was criticized for being a serial dater, Rose fought back at haters. When asked what she thought about Swift moving on with Tom Hiddleston after her breakup with DJ Calvin Harris, she said, “I did see that and I think she’s f***ing awesome.”

Mother. Amber Rose is also a mother. She has a son, Sebastian, with ex-husband and rapper Wiz Khalifa. But she doesn’t let society’s perception of what is acceptable for a mother to do limit her.
