New Study: The Effect Of Childbirth On Sex

No one needs a stress reliever quite like a new parent.  Binkies are priceless, diapers are sacred and alarm clocks are evil.  Even sex is an issue (let alone exactly what put parents in this position in the first place!). But apart from when parents can fit sex into their new lifestyle, there isn’t a better time to have it.  According to a new study, sex after childbirth is a special kind of magic that only new parents have the luxury of experiencing.  And if you’re curious as to why—here’s the reason… Was sex after childbirth an issue for you? Channel Mum, a parenting site in the U.K., has put an end to the idea that sex as a parent is dull.

On average, parents typically wait about 58 days before getting back to getting physical. This new study suggests they should get back into the game much sooner.

Over a thousand couples with children were involved in the study, with 60 percent of them claiming that sex felt better after having a baby.

All of the changes that come with pregnancy (physical and emotional) play a part in evolving the sexual experience between a new mom and dad.

Only 14 percent of moms felt sexy after childbirth, but they really shouldn't worry. Most new dads out there are actually digging their lady's new look.

According to the study, new dads actually prefer the curves that comes with childbirth. It's curvier, fuller—and, in short, sexier.

While it may not be surprising, the study also confirmed that men are much readier than women for sex as soon as possible post-birth. They just can't get enough, apparently.

New moms are good with sex once a week after having a baby, but new dads are just a bit more keen. They'll be quite happy with two days, thank you very much.

Happy as this study is, every parade has the chance of rain. A column from The Telegraph rebukes the study from Channel Mum, citing personal, painful experiences.
