Rebel Girl: ChaosModel

Post Image

ChaosModel is an alternative model and model agency entrepreneur from Sweden. Out of the ashes of a bullied childhood grew this beautiful woman who aimed to prove her worth through alternative modelling. Sounds a bit cliche’ right? But it’s true! In reality ChaosModel is a hard working entrepreneur of ChaosModels Agency that focuses on building the careers of alternative models worldwide. Get to know the mind behind the business below! Who knows, you might be their next client?

I got an offer to pose for a TFP photo shoot project in Sweden (through some friends) and it was like a revelation for me. I was extremely bullied through my entire childhood and early teenage years; people always told me how I would never be loved or how I would never succeed in life. Sometimes they even resorted to physical violence. But instead of letting this beat me down, I found a very powerful motivation within this rotten experience. I would show them, I would show the world that "different" can be just as beautiful as "normal". So, I started searching for information, sites, companies; focusing on "alternative fashion" and came in contact with people in the industry. When I graduated I immediately opened up my own company (ChaosModels Agency) and I gained several models in Europe. My determination has now taken me around the world, I lived in China for a while, traveling back and forth to many different Asian contries; working in the fashion industry. 2006 we got our first American model and 2012 I established very important contacts in France. We're an international agency for unique models. Fashion and beauty should not be limited by measurements.Did you always want to be a model or did you have other career aspirations when you were growing up? I knew that I wanted to do something based on my own ideas, but I never actually thought about modeling myself. I looked up to gorgeous pin-up women with strong personalities (one being Jessica Rabbit), but I imagined myself more as "the mind behind" some company or great idea. I thought about becoming a journalist, or something similar. I've always been the type of person whom isn't afraid to speek my mind, even when my opinions are provokative or when the truth might be a bit painful (but then again I do not enjoy being rude). When I was really young I wanted to be an archaeologist.Apart from having a great look, what else do you think is an important factor in succeeding as a model? Well thank you! I can mention a few very important things. 1. NEVER throw any shade if you can't handle the consequences. 2. If you're going to criticize someone professionally, make sure it's not just based your own negative opinions. 3. Be on time and show your best self. Trust me, you will get much further by being remembered as nice person. 4. Don't do provocative things just to shock people. You might get instant fame, but it doesn't last very long. Being loved lasts for a lifetime.Do you love any one genre of modeling more than another?I'd have to say 30-40s pin-up and high fashion latex couture. As well as a model and entrepreneur you’re a dance performer. What do you do as a performer?Indeed I dance and I do show performances. Sometimes I do burlesque shows, simple poleart performances etc. One of my personal favorites is my "Fetish Geisha" show, where I mix ancient cultural Asian dancing with "strip tease". I've also choreographed some fashion show runway-performances during "inspirASIAN" annual fashion shows. Other than that I simply LOVE to dance. You have experience in every part of the modelling process, from managing and modelling to photography and photo editing. How has this influenced your own images?I don't know if it has influenced my own images, or well it probably has but I don't really think about it that way; it sure has made me very harsh when it comes to selfcriticism though. I always want to become better at what I do and even though I am comfortable with who I am, there is always room for improvement. But then again, most of my focus goes to being an agent for my models signed with my agency. If they are happy and comfortable, then I can continue with my own modelling.Do you think understanding the photography side improves a model's photos?Absolutely, now that you mention it. Knowing and understanding the photography side makes me pay more attention to details and practical things, (such as light setting, angles, edit etc)What do you consider your career highlights so far? Officially opening my agency for alternative models 2004, gaining so many wonderful friends/models (men and women) to share my vision and my passion with; and now. Now is always my highlightDo you have any advice for models just starting out? Never accept a job offer your not 100% comfortable with, always do a background check before accepting an assignment and NEVER let anyone give you the delusional idea that you have to do nude or fit a specific frame to be popular. Before we go, could you tell us one fact about you that your fans don't know?Oh well haha, I am a very liberal and open type of person. There is not much that people don't know about me, unless they haven't asked. Let me think... I use tigerbalm for EVERYTHING. Muscle pain, migraines, circulation issues, insect bites, stuffed nose. I am slightly addicted to it. Do you want more from ChaosModel? Don’t worry, we have a gallery of hand picked photos right below! Which one is your favourite?
