Photo Series Reveals What Women Actually Look Like When They Orgasm

The female orgasm face has a stereotype, thanks to adult films and even just pop culture in general. But real life 'O' faces can be very different, and vary from person to person. Some look like pure bliss while others look like pure pain – but both are enjoyable orgasmic experiences! To capture this range, professional photographer Albert Pocej worked with women on a project aimed to capture the true essence of the female orgasm. The following photographs are from his and their experience.

Egle. We're not quite sure how someone can appear so calm and collected whilst having an orgasm, but Egle manages to do it with serious poise. This is not only the picture of a female orgasm, this is the picture of what it is to be a badass. Maybe it's just glorifying smoking, but you've got to admit, she looks like one stoic motherf****r.

Agne. This is one of those laugh-out-loud gorgeous images. It is so real and so telling of this woman's personality and that is what creates the beauty here. It's not polished or made up, it's genuine and quirky. We'd want to hang out with this woman for a day!

Marija. As you'll start to notice, photographer Albert Pocej doesn't just focus on his subjects, but on his backgrounds. The women are of course central to this project, but the setting is equally telling of their femininity and their experience. This is a more euphoric and delicate take on the female orgasm, which compares nicely with the delicate branches behind her.

Giedre. This is perhaps one of the most stunning photos in the collection. The sole light source focuses on the woman's facial expression, really zooming in on what it is we are here to witness. All else is blurred and inconsequential. Like this woman's experience, all that matters at this moment in the photograph is her pleasure.

Sandra. This is the face of absolute bliss and happiness. While another woman's face might tell of euphoria in a deep or profound way, Sandra just looks like she's having a really fun time. The natural setting of her laying on a bed of rocks highlights just how natural of an experience the female orgasm is and should be celebrated.

Simona. Simona's orgasmic experience looks supremely meditative and even transcendental. This photograph illustrates how just how oppositely two women can react to the same event. While one woman can be smiling ear to ear because of her orgasm, another can appear very calm and quiet.

Laura. Laura appears to be having a violently pleasant reaction to her orgasm. Some women are quiet, others sing it from the rooftops. From the looks of it, Laura is not shy or reserved about what's on her mind. It is primal and visceral.

Loreta. Laying in a meadow enjoying the simplest yet most extravagant pleasure in life. Haven't we all had this fantasy? Sometimes for the ultimate orgasm all a woman wants is to be put in a dreamworld all her own...

Breta. The photographer's actual reason for taking this photograph next to a stack of lumber could be much different than our guess, but it seems to us like this is meant to be a secret. Given the odd location, the shadows at play, and the woman's position in the photograph, it seems as if she stowed herself away to enjoy this moment on her own. A woman's orgasm is very much for her, not just for her partner.

Monika. There's no telling where inspiration will strike. Music and artistic creation is much like the female orgasm in that it is fluid, beautiful and unpredictable. It can also be complex, but the pleasure of it is wonderfully simple.

Muza. Muza seems to be getting lost in the pleasure of her own orgasm as one would get lost in the woods. This would definitely make sense given the setting of this photograph. Reaching female orgasm can be difficult to navigate at times, like a mysterious forest, but getting lost in it is the real pleasure.

Neringa. This photograph showcases the ruggedness that can come with a woman's orgasm. Not all women are dainty and classically "feminine" as people might traditionally think. Her facial expression combined with the ruggedness of the landscape behind her shows a different side of the female orgasm.

Renata. We don't know exactly where Renata is, but that seems to be of little consequence to her. All that matters is her immense pleasure, and it does seem to be immense. There is something about seeing someone fully enjoying themselves that just brings you joy, no matter the situation.

Another Laura. This Laura shows us more of what we would tend to expect from an image of a woman orgasming. She's rolling around in her pleasure and simultaneously in a field. The texture of the ground beneath her compliments the texture of her hair to give that sense of movement that her body suggests.

Natalja. We've got to say, this image looks more like Natalja just tasted Nutella for the very first time, but hey, who's to say that's not an orgasmic experience? Just like some woman are more vocal than others, some women keep their mouths open while others keep their mouths closed while they orgasm.
