Valentine’s Day has mixed perceptions. But the truth be spoken, those who have a negative view on this day may simply be unable to express or receive love or are completely pessimistic and macho men. However, anybody else regardless of how busy they are will make it a fantastic time for their loved ones. Those who don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day are few and have no significance in statistics and they cannot change anything on this day. Therefore, do yourself a favor and avoid the following things:
Do Something, Don’t do Nothing
Don’t even think about doing nothing, especially if you are romantically attached to someone who will probably be expectant. There is so much to do. If you are single, try to give something nice to any of your family members. Valentines is about love. Don’t you love your family? If so, throw a dinner party for them. If you have nobody to take you out or nobody to take out, throw yourself a party. You know what you like in life. Don’t let the day pass without doing anything. There is no excuse not to celebrate. The best way to kill your relationship is do nothing during this day, unless of course you are both in agreement on this.
Don’t Expose Your Personal Vices
On this day, make sure you show your best, be the happiest and love the most. This is not the day to go out to dinner and starting eating with your hands. Please make a point of leaving some behaviors behind and behave decently and like the perfect gentleman.
Don’t Mention Your Ex
Everybody’s ex was the best. But they are now a past tense. Therefore, mentioning your ex is a grave V-Day mistake. It will be last one for you. After all, they are somewhere with someone else who is giving them the most. Remember that.
Are You a Last Minute Person?
The writings are on the wall. You know everybody is celebrating this one day in a year and yet you decide to pick up a gift or make bookings the same day. You will be lost. There is huge traffic during this day. Make sure you do your best early enough. You don’t want to half bake your love.
Avoid Routine
Avoid routine and do something different. If you have been sending a bouquet of flowers or nice chocolates to your partner, try to do something different and send them a certificate or a voucher to the clothing store. If you’ve been buying them gifts, organize a way they can go and collect the same on their own or have it delivered.
The Last Thing You Should do. But it has not come to that
The last thing you should do is postpone the V-Day celebrations. It won’t sound good. There is no other day like this. Do it because of love. However, if it comes to that, make sure you do it earlier than the actual day. Later is not acceptable.
Spend Little Money and Give More Love
Women appreciate the small pleasures in life. Really, they do. Give her a thoughtful treat like a home cooked meal or a card you made yourself. She will love it.
Don’t be missing in Action
Don’t be missing in action, no matter how tempting. We all have eyes, emotions and hearts that feel. Your partner will be seeing gifts flying all over their faces and you, her man, cannot be located. This is sad and really disappointing. You need to know that even if your partner does not care just like you, this is no excuse to perform a disappearing act. Just wish them a happy Valentine’s Day regardless.
Don’t Bring up any Negative Topics
Relationships sometimes have rough roads. Don’t mention any negative things that may have happened during the past days in your relationship. This will seem like you don’t care anymore about the relationship and a clear sign that nothing good is going to come. Nobody wants to lose a relationship on Valentine’s Day.
Conclusion
Just like there exists thousands of great ideas to do on Valentine’s Day, there also exist many things not to do on February 14th. It is safer if you know those things that can turn out to spoil the day rather than wait and experiment. The list above is not conclusive. Things like neglecting your family members and friends, taking things for granted, not caring or being concerned, complaining and even making it your first date are just but a few things which should not happen on this day. It is easy, safer and lovelier to spend the day loving and doing something lovely rather than doing anything else. If you’re anti-Valentines, take this time to reflect on your views. At one point in life, we all have had lovers to care for. Change things and rejuvenate your love life.
